Every little bit helps and with the gift of money we can use this to go towards much needed medical equipment and supplies, hospital maintenance and travel assistance for medical professionals.
100% of monies donated go to help the mothers and the babies.
Recently, we put donations to good use by purchasing portable ultrasounds. This equipment is essential in monitoring the progress of the delivery, identifying breech births, twins, or other complications. Action can then be taken early to give the best possible outcome.

All your donations will be received by Midwife Vision and distributed directly to the maternity unit at the Amana Hospital in Dar es Salam, Tanzania. Your donations are specifically given to the maternity unit, not the hospital, to ensure they are not used for other departments.
Special thanks to Uncle Gilbert who left money in his will for the education of someone in Africa.
Thanks to what he left behind, the Becker Family matched his donation, forming the Uncle Gilbert & Becker Family Scholarship which is now giving one very deserving Midwife, Sr Theresia Chacky, an opportunity to train over three years to be a clinical educator at the Midwife Vision Training Clinic.
Workplace giving is a great way to support our work. If your company has Good2Give as it’s Workplace Giving Platform, we encourage you Sign In and support us with a Workplace Giving donation today.
Unfortunately Midwife Vision is no longer able to sustain the non-monetary donations, including medical equipment and also clothes, knitted or otherwise. The costs of freight of our last shipment cost over $10,000AUD in freight costs, tax and fees.
This means that the monetary donations we receive cannot keep up with the shipping for these items which is not fair on mothers and babies who require critical medical equipment like birth kits. In addition to this, the presence COVID-19 means the docks and harbours in Tanzania where our donations received are now closed and quarantined, meaning our equipment would not reach mothers and babies. This change will be in place for Midwife Vision for at least 18 months if not indefinitely.
This is a very sad situation for Midwife Vision but we want to thank all the knitters out there who have put their love, sweat and tears into making such beautiful gifts for mothers and babies half a world away!
Do you have knitted goods you were planning to donate?
The wonderful team at Knit4Charities will gladly accept hand-made gifts and distribute them to those in need.
